In The Beginning...

Finally the time has come for me to write my first blog! This is actually the first time I have felt motivated to write! Well except that one time I wrote a letter to the red power ranger. I asked if he could save me from the evil monster called Tony. He never came…so I am stuck with my older brother Tony. On a more serious note, these blogs are going to be about my life at college and how God affects my life during this time. I am currently a student at the University of Houston.
I have been at school for about 8 weeks now and man is it rough!  Move-in day was the key to FREEEEDOM!!! *Braveheart voice* I was thinking the whole time that I no longer had to listen to my mom and dad ! Sadly, they still tell me what to do. I don’t have a bed time but they still control my money (until I get a job), so I am kind of enslaved. I also am not that great at doing laundry. They sent me to college without a T.V. so I have no idea what is going on in the world! What the heck is Glee?
I moved in one a Wednesday and I got my roommate on Saturday! His name is Dominique. He is your (no offense) typical black guy. Likes raps and hip-hop, thinks he is tougher than the world, but underneath it all he has a caring heart and loves God. I prayed to God every day before I met him that he would be a Christian, even though God would have done what he wanted, but God did bless me with him being a Christian. We get along real well; it is almost like we live together…
The first few weeks of college went real easy! Professors didn’t really do much besides go over the syllabus and teach intro lessons. I thought this was the life! I soon figured out that it’s a little more than short lessons and meeting cute girls in class. Soon I was having multiple homework assignments due on a single day. I was swarmed with work but I have gotten used to it. Yeah that’s not a normal sentence to say. I am use to homework! Dang skippy!
Finally I had some funny things happen to me my first few weeks and think I will end with one of those stories. Our showers are community showers and all the rooms encircle the showers. Well one day I was taking a shower and upon getting out I realized I forgot shorts and a shirt. I walked across the hall with a towel wrapped around my waist. As I got my key out to unlock my door, my towel fell. I looked down at my towel, looked at my door, and then look down the hallway to see a girl with a surprised look.  I then proceeded to look back down, and then look at my door, and rushed in.
